Billam-Smith promises “a violent one” against Clarke at Zuffa Boxing 12
Chris Billam-Smith and Cheavon Clarke both made weight for tonight’s cruiserweight fight at the Copper Box Arena in London.
Cheavon Clarke made weight easily at 198.8 lb. Chris Billam-Smith had a harder cut and came in at 199.5 lb.
The two met twice as amateurs about a decade ago, and Clarke won both times. Billam-Smith, a former cruiserweight world champion, said Saturday’s fight will be “a violent one” and that he wants to win inside the distance. Clarke called it “explosive”.
On the undercard, Shane Mosley Jr was a pound over for his middleweight fight with Denzel Bentley. He took almost the full hour to lose it and made 160 lb, so that fight goes ahead.
