Canelo and Mbilli make weight: the fight is on tonight in Riyadh

Canelo Alvarez weighed 167.6 pounds and champion Christian Mbilli 167.8 for tonight's WBC super middleweight title fight at The Venue in Riyadh. Every fighter on the card made weight.

It's fight night. Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli both made weight on Friday, and their WBC super middleweight title fight goes ahead tonight at The Venue in Riyadh.

THE WEIGHTS

Canelo came in at 167.6 pounds, champion Mbilli at 167.8. The limit is 168. Every fighter on the card made weight.

"I don't believe in shortcuts," Canelo said. Mbilli called it "the fight of the decade" and promised to "beat him everywhere."

Canelo is 63-3-2 and fighting for the first time since losing to Terence Crawford. Mbilli is unbeaten at 29-0-1 and making his first defence.

THE UNDERCARD

Jaime Munguia (167.4) faces Nikita Zon (167.5) for the WBA super middleweight title, and unbeaten Rafael Espinoza (125.8) defends his WBO featherweight belt against Ricardo Blandon (126). David Picasso and Reito Tsutsumi are also on the main card.

The only fight lost from the card was the vacant IBF title fight between Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov, after the travel problems in Riyadh. Biyarslanov's team says he will still get his title shot later.

HOW TO WATCH

The card is on DAZN. The main card starts at 10pm UAE time (2pm ET), with Canelo vs Mbilli last.
