Julian Erosa will retire after Saturday's fight, win or lose

UFC featherweight Julian Erosa says his fight with Jeong Yeong Lee at UFC Vegas 123 on Halloween will be the last of his career. He is moving home to help run his mother's business.

Julian Erosa has picked his last fight. The UFC featherweight says he will retire after facing Jeong Yeong Lee on Saturday, October 31, at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

WHY NOW

Erosa, 37, says it is about family. His wife moved back to Yakima, Washington, more than a year ago to help run his mother's food business. Living apart while he trained in Las Vegas stopped working once they had a son. The family moves home on November 18.

He set the date in advance on purpose. "Win, lose or draw, I'm going to want to fight again," he said. He also wants to leave with his health intact, as training with younger fighters gets harder.

A FAN FAVOURITE

Erosa turned pro in 2010 and has had more than 40 pro fights. He was on The Ultimate Fighter 22, was cut by the UFC twice and fought his way back each time. His UFC record is 9-9, with memorable wins over Nate Landwehr and Charles Jourdain, and he rarely had a boring fight.

THE LAST ONE

Lee won the first season of Road to UFC but has lost his last two. The fight is on the prelims of UFC Vegas 123, headlined by Renato Moicano vs Tom Nolan.
