Mayweather vs Garcia? WBC champion says the offer is on the table

Ryan Garcia has accepted Floyd Mayweather's call-out, but only for a real fight with Mayweather's 50-0 record on the line.

Floyd Mayweather has not fought as a professional since 2017. But his name is back in the headlines, and this time a reigning world champion is calling him out.

Ryan Garcia, the WBC welterweight champion, has accepted a call-out from Mayweather and says the offer is on the table. Garcia's one condition: it has to be a real professional fight, with Mayweather's unbeaten record on the line. He has ruled out an exhibition.

No date or venue has been agreed, and Mayweather has not commented publicly on Garcia's offer. If it happens, it would most likely be in 2027.

WHAT HAPPENED TO PACQUIAO?

Mayweather was meant to face Manny Pacquiao in a Netflix rematch in Las Vegas in September 2026. In June, Pacquiao confirmed the fight was postponed indefinitely, with legal and contract disputes on Mayweather's side cited as the reason.

THE FIGHTERS

Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) retired unbeaten after beating Conor McGregor in 2017. He won world titles in five weight classes and has since fought only exhibitions.

Ryan Garcia (26-2, 21 KOs, 1 no contest) holds the WBC welterweight title and stopped Conor Benn in two rounds in September. He is also in talks with WBA champion Teofimo Lopez about a unification fight.

HISTORY ON THE LINE

Mayweather turns 50 in February 2027. A win over Garcia would make him the oldest world champion in boxing history, beating Bernard Hopkins's record. A loss would end his perfect record.
